Now every young teams in Ajax plays 'one point to front' in the midfield. There may be some changes. Because Johan Cruijff thinks that Number 10 is outdated. And Bergkamp agrees with him.

Cruijff doesn't actually think that playing with a '10 is outdated since he has never thought it worked. It's to easy to disrupt the play of a team which plays with a '10' if you have him manmarked.

I have read that in this week's VI. He said 5 years ago to Ajax Life.
'Wie het internationale voetbal een beetje volgt, ziet dat je helemaal niet meer een nummer 10 kan spelen.'

This is a obvious change in the system.
Some details in last week's Voetbal International.
De Boer chated with Cruijff about one year ago about the system.
De Boer:' The advantage is that we have two attacking midfielders now. We are not dependent on just ONE player(number 10). With two attacking midfielders you can make more run actions and create a freeman between the lines much better. So you will have more variations in attacking. However this defends on how the opponent plays. If they plays with two defensive midfielders, then a real number 10 will be useful. Because that he can make two players of the opponent busy with him. And so we will benefit in the midfield.'
